Question:Is it ok for an 85 year old man?

Answer:Well, i have to say yes, if he currently rides a bike this size or has driven an electric bike. Remember that with an electric bike, when you start to peddle, the motor kicks in and the bike takes off. You can avoid this by applying the brake and it will slow down a bit. I would suggest riding the bike with the key turned off at first, then turn the key on. He's 85 and i'm not a doctor, but care should be taken if he has no experience riding a bike. If he rides a bike all the time, then by all means let him go for it. My wife loves her bike and its very stable and controllable. Hope this helps. 

Question:Is the motor loud while riding?

Answer:No. An electric whine. Not a problem.

Question:How much does the bike weigh?

Answer:Quite heavy probably.75#. Not a problem as you probably want a heavier bike when using power.

Question:How much weight can this bear while driving on the motor alone without pedal assist?

Answer:I'm 5'9" and 200lbs. Bike is extremely sturdy.

Question:Learning here. Can you petal and ride like a traditional bike, but, say you got miles out and you don't want to, can you then turn it on and go?

Answer:Yes - you do not need to pedal. If you do not turn on the electric part - you can ride like a regular bike. For me- the weight of the bike keeps me from riding it with out the electric assist. All that being said - I love the bike.
